Payload rating is used by the manufacturer to let you know what they have determined is the amount of weight you can safely put in your vehicle. This usually includes passenger, content and the weight of your vehicle. A "net payload" usually is the amount of weight you can safely haul in the bed of your truck.

Despite what some may say, the payload of your truck cannot be safely increased! It involves much more than just springs. It involves your frame strength, springs, shocks, bearings, tires, rims, wheels, axles, gears and more so please be careful! Don't confuse what you can pull BEHIND the wheels with what you can load ON the wheels.

For all of these reasons and more, Mike Jones Motors/Rv strongly recommends that you double check the maximum towing/payload weight ratings with the local vehicle dealer for your specific vehicle prior to towing any trailer or hauling any sort of truck camper.
